Pumpkin Patch 2020

We visited our local pumpkin patch yesterday. We were not able to go last year, so we were so happy to go this year. We were blessed with a beautiful sunny 70 degree day. It was very bright outside so it was hard to keep our eyes open for pictures. Haha.  We had so much fun in the corn maze, walking through the sunflower field, and playing in the big hay stack. We got to share some of our favorite foods boiled peanuts and nachos. Before we left we rode the hayride to pick our pumpkins and finished up the day with a funnel cake. I am so thankful for these sweet memories with my family. We will carve our pumpkins tonight and get ourselves prepped for the week ahead. I hope you have a wonderful week! Hope

Just a Few Things I Am Thankful For

Just a few things I am thankful for Polka dot rain boots and pretty leaves while running errands. Pretty fall flowers from my sweet hubby. A cute hat for days I don't want to fix my hair. Also a happy puppy waiting for her people to get out of school.  I hope your week is going wonderfully! Hope

Hurricane Sally and Books

Just some of our life happenings lately.... Picture day for these babies. Picture day happened to fall on the same day that Hurricane Sally would start moving through our area that evening. We are not at all near the coast but we did get lots of rain and strong wind that night. Our neighborhood lost power around 8:30 PM and it was out for about 12 hours. Thankfully we didn't have any damage from this storm. This was a tiny inconvenience compared to what the people in hard hit hurricane areas have went through this year. We continue to keep them in our prayers. I remember Hurricane Opal as a child and the sound of that wind and the eye is something I will never forgot. We were without power for several days when Hurricane Opal came through. So with no power that night the kids and dogs camped out in our room. School was not delayed or canceled so getting ready for school the next day was an adventure with no power. We made it though and were extra thankful to come home to power tha

10

I have neglected my little corner of the internet lately but I am back to post more life updates.  One major event was at the end of September this special boy turned 10! How in the world have ten years passed since this precious boy entered our lives?!?!? Chris and I wanted a baby so much. We prayed for this sweet boy for over a year. After a year of trying and some help from modern medicine we got a our gift from God in the form of our precious Brody Reid.  I miss the days of watching Dino Dan and Team Umizoomi with him, but it is amazing watching him grow into the big kid he is. Now his days are filled with soccer and Fortnite, but he hasn't lost his love for dinosaurs or Pokemon. We are so very blessed to raise this smart, funny, kind hearted boy.   Have a blessed week! Hope

First Day of School 2020

On Monday my babies started back to school. In these uncertain times we had different options on how we would begin school this year. We could do virtual public school, go back to the traditional classroom, or homeschool. At this point my husband and I decided that it would be best for our kiddos to be back in the traditional classroom. There isn't an easy choice about school in these crazy times. Our school is smaller, they are wearing masks, and taking social distancing precautions. We have prayed about our decision and feel we did what is best for our family. I am praying for the parents out there that are having to make choices about what to for school this year, please know I respect whatever choice you make and I know it's not easy.   How did my babies grow up so fast!?! Brody's first last day of elementary school. 4th grade Evie's first day of 2nd grade.  I hope you all have a wonderful week! Hope

July

Well I unintentionally took a few weeks off from blogging. Life happened and blogging took a backseat but I'm back. :)  I know we still have a week left in July, but it has been a super busy month. These are just a few of the events that have occurred this month.  It's been a bad month for air conditioning at our house. The a/c in my husband's truck went out and the a/c in our house wasn't cooling. We are also in the middle of a heatwave in Alabama so both of those had to be fixed. They are done and behind us so hopefully we don't have any more problems out of them for a while.  The kiddos needed new shoes, and with growing feet they really needed to be with me so we could make sure they fit. Brody got a cool pair of Nike's that he is loving. Evie found these cute Leopard shoes that she just fell in love with. Of course we had to test them out on a walk one evening when it was actually cool enough outside. Our sweet Emma somehow inju

Sunflowers

There is a beautiful sunflower that blooms for only about 10-15 days once a year that is about 40 minutes from where we live, but it was well worth the drive. The heat was pretty intense when we first got there, but as time went on a storm started rolling in so that really cooled things off. We had a fun afternoon and I think we ended almost walking two miles before we left.  My sweet babies This handsome boy keeps us laughing.  Oh how we adore this beautiful, silly girl. I'm so thankful for my little family, these two and their Daddy made my dreams of being a wife and Mama come true.  I hope you all have a wonderful and safe week. Hope

4th of July Traditions

The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays. For us it just consists of simple fun and traditions with our family. We have a few traditions that we always do with the kids that I hope they remember when they are grown up.  Glass Bottle Cokes and The Sandlot Glass Bottle Cokes were always a staple at my Maw Maw's house growing up. She had a bottle opener on the cabinet under her sink. I spent lots of time with her growing up and a glass bottle coke will always make me think of her. Plus coke tastes better out of a glass bottle. We also always watch The Sandlot around the 4th, I can't think of a movie that describes summer better.  Patriotic Shirts We always make sure we have red, white, and blue to wear on the 4th. Of course this Mama has to take pictures of her kiddos in their patriotic clothes. These are a few of my favorite from previous years. 2017 2019 My husband also loves to grill out. One of the yummy sides we usually have is corn

Snapshots from Life at Home

Just a few photos from life this past week.  Morning Coffee in a cup from my bestie.   This big kid making ham and cheese roll ups for his sister.  This precious girl making Barbie clothes. I loved doing the same thing when I was a little girl. Cute fabric. My husband's grandmother taught him to sew when he was little. She left him her sewing machine after she passed. Chris always does such a good job sewing, as you can tell by this adorable mask he made me. I am going to attempt to make a tote bag with the same fabric. We will see if I can accomplish it! I may have to call in reinforcements! ( Chris or my Mom)  Have you ever had Cotton Candy grapes? I have always heard of them but never got my hands on any. When I was grocery shopping last week Aldi had them so I bought some home. They are delicious! Have a wonderful week and stay safe! Hope

Father's Day Weekend

Our weekend was filled with swimming, soccer, food, and relaxing. We swam at my in laws on Saturday (I totally forgot to get any pictures ) before Brody had soccer scrimmages. We are happy to be back at the fields. We are taking precautions and the kids are happy to be back playing together again. My hubby is happy to be back coaching too. It makes to so happy to see my boys do what they love. It was so HOT at soccer so the kids are having to make sure they take lots of breaks and stay well hydrated. Summertime in Alabama is no joke. Sunday we visited my Daddy and took him some goodies. Mostly we just relaxed and hung out around the house. We had leftover pork from Saturday and made some sides for supper. Brownie sundaes were for dessert. Chris also cut up a watermelon we picked up at Aldi so we can snack on it this week. Chris and I watched House Hunters while the Brody and Evie played in the backyard with a few neighborhood kids until it was starting to get late. We love all the extr
