A Little Winter Getaway

This past weekend Chris was a groomsman in one of our friend's weddings. The wedding took place in Fort Morgan so it was a great excuse for us to make a weekend of it. Chris and I have always loved the Gulf Shores/ Ft. Morgan area and we were thrilled to take Brody on his first visit there. I was a little sacered about a three hour car ride. Brody has never been a child that is ok with being in his car seat for any length of time. So on Saturday morning we got up at 3AM and put Brody in his carseat and hit the road. Brody did great and slept all the way to Robertsdale. We stopped at Burger King ate breakfast and got back on the road to find the house were Michael and Noelle's wedding was going to be. After we got to the house we bundled Brody up and took him out to the beach, he loved it! I think that he thought it was one giant sand box. He also loved looking at the birds on the beach and he had a great time collecting shells. I can't wait to take him back when the weather is warmer. We also got to eat at two of our fave places ever to eat Lulu's on the Homeport and Lamberts. Brody did great at both places expecially Lamberts, he even got some from help from Daddy so he could catch a roll. After that everytime the roll guy would come by Brody would hold out his little hands ready to catch one! We also hit the outlets to get Brody some clothes for the summer, we found alot of good deals. Chris got a tool he needed for work and I got a cute shirt from Old Navy and 2 books from the $5 Christian book store. Oh My, Brody loved the bookstore, they had a little kitchen set there and Brody would take the little cooking pot and pretend to fill it up with at the sink and then drink it, then he would let a big AHHHHH and just smile. I love watching how our little fellow is growing and using his imaganation it is so awesome to watch! We also went took Brody into Toys R Us. He loved it, he started playing with a foam sword with Chris and then he took off running at one of the ladies that worked there with the sword yelling, It was so funny, the lady that worked there said that was one of the funniest things she had seen in a long time. I am so thankful that we were able to take this trip and spend time together as a family. We made some wonderful memories that i will treasure forever

Seeing the water for the first time.

Fun During Our Extended Break From School

We have been enjoying ourselves during this extended summer. During Covid-19 school was done by packet/ online, dance by zoom and soccer was cancelled. Well thankfully we have finished the school year out. The kids had amazing teachers and we were so sad the year was cut short with them. Soccer and dance have started back up so the kiddos are excited to have their activities back in person.  During our time at home with no outside activities we had fun and accomplished lots. First we all found a show on Disney plus we all enjoyed, I remember it being on when I was a teenager. Now we are watching the original show that created the spin off series we finished.  Chris and I found a show we really enjoyed on Netflix, I can't wait for season 2 to come out. We also swam and played outside. We visited the bamboo park and also planted flowers ( that are still alive! ) I hope you all have a wonderful week! Hope

4th of July Traditions

The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays. For us it just consists of simple fun and traditions with our family. We have a few traditions that we always do with the kids that I hope they remember when they are grown up.  Glass Bottle Cokes and The Sandlot Glass Bottle Cokes were always a staple at my Maw Maw's house growing up. She had a bottle opener on the cabinet under her sink. I spent lots of time with her growing up and a glass bottle coke will always make me think of her. Plus coke tastes better out of a glass bottle. We also always watch The Sandlot around the 4th, I can't think of a movie that describes summer better.  Patriotic Shirts We always make sure we have red, white, and blue to wear on the 4th. Of course this Mama has to take pictures of her kiddos in their patriotic clothes. These are a few of my favorite from previous years. 2017 2019 My husband also loves to grill out. One of the yummy sides we usually have is corn...

First Day of School 2020

On Monday my babies started back to school. In these uncertain times we had different options on how we would begin school this year. We could do virtual public school, go back to the traditional classroom, or homeschool. At this point my husband and I decided that it would be best for our kiddos to be back in the traditional classroom. There isn't an easy choice about school in these crazy times. Our school is smaller, they are wearing masks, and taking social distancing precautions. We have prayed about our decision and feel we did what is best for our family. I am praying for the parents out there that are having to make choices about what to for school this year, please know I respect whatever choice you make and I know it's not easy.   How did my babies grow up so fast!?! Brody's first last day of elementary school. 4th grade Evie's first day of 2nd grade.  I hope you all have a wonderful week! Hope
